About
I am a professional guitarist, music educator, and entrepreneur with over a decade of experience in performance and music education. I hold a Grade 8 certification in Rock & Pop Guitar from Trinity College London, awarded with Distinction (90/100). Since 2015, I’ve been teaching guitar to students across a wide range of skill levels — from beginners discovering their first chords to advanced players preparing for Trinity and Rockschool examinations.
My professional journey includes live performances in diverse settings — from intimate acoustic sessions to full-scale rock productions — covering everything from instrumental rock and fusion to melodic reinterpretations of cinematic music. I’ve recreated and performed pieces such as Comfortably Numb, Sweet Child O’ Mine, Crazy Train, and Always With Me, Always With You, with a focus on tone, phrasing, and expressive storytelling.
I’m also the founder and director of Taal Music World, a full-scale music instrument store and education hub that connects players, teachers, and learners through a shared love for music. This ecosystem keeps me constantly in touch with emerging trends in performance, gear, and pedagogy.
As a teacher, I specialize in guiding intermediate and advanced guitarists who want to move beyond technique and develop true artistic expression. My approach blends technical clarity with creative freedom, helping each student unlock their tone, touch, and individuality. I believe mastery on the guitar isn’t about how many notes you can play — it’s about how deeply your sound can move someone.
Teaching Style
My teaching approach goes far beyond showing students what notes to play. I focus on helping each guitarist think and feel like a musician — to understand the language of music deeply and express themselves with confidence and individuality.
I emphasize three key pillars:
-
Clarity of Fundamentals – Technique, timing, tone, and fretboard fluency form the foundation. I ensure students understand not only how to play, but why each element matters.
-
Musical Intelligence – I introduce music theory through real songs and solos — from Joe Satriani to Pink Floyd — so students connect theory with emotional expression. My aim is to make them independent players who can analyze and create with depth.
-
Artistic Expression – Every guitarist has a unique voice. My teaching nurtures that individuality through phrasing, dynamics, and creativity — helping students evolve from copying to composing and improvising.
My classes are ideal for intermediate and advanced players who want to move from mechanical playing to mastery with meaning. I treat every student as a fellow artist in progress — encouraging exploration, curiosity, and freedom through disciplined practice.
Curriculum
Teaching Method:
My method integrates technical mastery with musical awareness. Every lesson is designed around three parallel tracks:
-
Technique & Tone: Focused on accuracy, control, and articulation through exercises, etudes, and song-based drills.
-
Musical Understanding: Application of scales, modes, harmony, and rhythm through real music — from Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson, and Pink Floyd to Indian melodic sensibilities.
-
Creative Expression: Development of phrasing, improvisation, and composition, helping students discover their own sound while staying true to the instrument’s soul.
I combine structured progress tracking (with weekly milestones and jam assignments) with intuitive exploration — encouraging students to feel the music as much as they understand it.
Recommended Student Texts:
-
Zen Guitar by Philip Toshio Sudo — for mindset and artistic philosophy
-
Fretboard Logic by Bill Edwards — for visual fretboard understanding
-
The Guitar Handbook by Ralph Denyer — for overall reference and theory
-
Creative Guitar Series by Guthrie Govan — for phrasing and technique development
-
Trinity Rock & Pop Syllabus (Grades 5–8) — for structured repertoire and performance standards
I also curate personalized practice materials and song transcriptions based on each student’s goals — whether they want to master solos, improve improvisation, or compose their own music.
