About
About Aksel – Concert Pianist & Experienced Piano Teacher
Hi, I’m Aksel! I’ve been playing piano nearly all my life and have over 10 years of teaching experience, working with students of all levels—from complete beginners to aspiring professionals.
I studied under Prof. Björn Lehmann at the University of the Arts Berlin (UdK), where I completed my Bachelor’s degree and am currently pursuing my Master’s. I was also an Artist-in-Residence at Ingesund College of Music in Sweden, mentored by Prof. Julia Mustonen-Dahlkvist and Aristo Sham (2025 Van Cliburn Gold Medalist).
Since 2019, I’ve been based in Germany, performing across Europe in countries including Germany, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Denmark, Estonia, and France. I’ve appeared as a soloist with orchestras, performing concertos by Liszt, Chopin, and Mozart, and I regularly give solo recitals and chamber music concerts.
I also studied historical fortepiano with Prof. Lucas Blondeel and spent a year focusing on historically informed performance.
In addition to my performance career, I’ve worked as teaching staff at Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey, and I bring a structured yet flexible approach to every lesson.
Whether you’re just starting out or preparing for auditions or diplomas, I’d love to help you reach your goals with clarity, confidence, and joy at the keyboard.
Teaching Style
Having studied with teachers from very different traditions, I bring a well-rounded and flexible approach to my teaching. I believe in a few core principles:
- Foundations First: We build a strong base in technique and healthy playing habits to support musical freedom.
- No One-Size-Fits-All: There are no formulas in piano playing—your goals, tastes, and expectations shape the direction of our lessons.
- Problem-Solving Through Experience: I’ve encountered nearly every technical challenge myself, and having studied with world-class mentors, I’ve learned multiple ways to approach each problem. This allows me to tailor solutions that truly work for you.
Above all, I bring patience and deep listening to every lesson. Years of experience have taught me that meaningful progress comes from a thoughtful, collaborative process—never pressure.
There may not be a magic wand in piano playing, but with focused practice, a clear artistic image, and the right guidance, we can absolutely create something magical.
Curriculum
My method is no method and the lessons will shape itself according to how much you practice, your level and expectations.
I have taught to complete beginners and helped people preparing for serious competitions.
