Aleksandra Cherepanova
About
I am a professional artist with over 20 years of experience and a Master’s degree in Painting and Fine Art. I have been teaching since 2005, working with students of all ages — from young children to aspiring professionals. My lessons focus on drawing, painting (oil, acrylic, watercolor), and portfolio preparation for art schools and colleges.
My students have received top placements in international art competitions and have been accepted into highly competitive university programs. I’ve also served as a juror for international exhibitions and contests, and my own paintings are held in museum and private collections worldwide.
Whether you're just beginning or looking to refine your skills, I offer structured, creative, and supportive instruction — designed to bring out the best in every student.
I hold a Master’s degree in Painting from the Natalia Nesterova Academy of Painting, which I completed in 2007. I have been teaching drawing and painting since 2005, working with children, teens, and adults in both private tutoring and institutional settings.
Since January 2025, I have been teaching at Multi Arts Academy in Newark, where I offer lessons in academic drawing, painting, and portfolio development to students of all ages and levels.
From May to December 2024, I worked at Waterfront Montessori in Jersey City as a temporary art teacher, leading classes for elementary school children and incorporating the Montessori philosophy into my creative approach.
In 2008, I founded my own private art school, where I developed and taught a structured, multi-level curriculum for children, teenagers, and adults. This original curriculum is now published and available on Amazon. It supports both beginners and advanced learners, and is designed to be highly adaptable to each student's goals and pace.
As a professional artist, I have exhibited my paintings internationally since 2000. My works are held in private and museum collections across Europe, Asia, and the United States. I have also served as a juror for international art competitions. Many of my students have won awards and been accepted into competitive art schools and university programs around the world.
Teaching Style
My teaching is tailored to each student’s level, age, and goals. I combine classical academic methods with contemporary creativity, building a strong foundation in drawing, color theory, composition, and technique — while encouraging artistic freedom and expression.
I work with students in a wide range of media: graphite, charcoal, watercolor, acrylic, oil, and ink. Lessons are hands-on and immersive. Students are encouraged to develop their own style as they gain confidence in working from observation, imagination, and reference.
Curriculum
My teaching is based on a flexible, original program that I developed over many years of experience — and published as an educational guide, now available on Amazon. This program is adaptable to each student's needs, goals, age, and experience level.
Lessons are carefully structured yet highly personalized. I combine classical academic training with creative exploration, helping each student gain technical mastery while discovering their unique artistic voice.
I emphasize a strong foundation in drawing, color, and composition — using traditional and contemporary methods — while adjusting each lesson in real time based on the student’s progress and interests.
