About
I grew up with two music teachers for parents, so I've been surrounded by music my whole life. I've played piano since I was 6 and guitar since I was 13. I attended Queensland University of Technology for Music Performance after finishing high school, and have taught privately since 2012. I also established, convened, and tutored up to 30 students in the contemporary music program at Brisbane State High School from 2015 to 2018.
I have taught students from ages 5 to 82 (and counting). Past students of mine have attended the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, University of Queensland Music, and TAFE Qld Music Production.
I have performed with jazz vocalist Merinda Dias-Jayasinha and other jazz combos around Brisbane on guitar and keyboard, as well as band Stranger Land, but my primary interest is in music theory and tuition.
Teaching Style
I have a wide range of musical interests, and tailor my tuition to my students' needs. I am proficient in reading and teaching traditional music notation, as well as tablature. I am most interested in giving students the passion to continue playing music, whether they're interested in playing songs, or a deeper understanding of music theory and technique.
