About
Hello! I am a professional music educator and performer. I have been playing the violin for 35 years. I am a member of the Las Vegas Philharmonic and teach middle and high school orchestra to 5th-12th-grade students. Music is my passion!
I started playing the violin in 4th grade. I attended a traditional Suzuki program from 6th to 12th grade. I have a Bachelor's and Master's degree in violin performance and an additional Master's degree in Music Education.
Teaching Style
I believe you have to start with a good foundation. We will make sure both your left and right-hand setup is correct. I use scales and etudes to work on flexibility, tone, intonation, and many other technical elements of playing. I use the Suzuki repertoire for classical pieces, and I always let students choose one "fun" piece!
Curriculum
It really depends on the student's level. Suzuki books, Wohlfahrt etudes, Kreutzer etudes, concertos, sonatas, the possibilities are endless!
