Anastasia Prokusheva
About
Hi there!
I’m Anastasia. If you’re into fine arts, be it your hobby or future career, I’m here to help!
You may be one of the following:
🟢 A fine arts student looking to get additional guidance
🟢 A recent graduate looking to further hone their skills
🟢 A working artist facing a new challenge or an unfamiliar style
🟢 A self-taught artist looking for more academic training
🟢 Or just a creative person wishing to turn their vision into reality
As someone who’s been into fine arts their whole life, I can offer my assistance, advice, and expertise to any willing soul. I have a strong background in the European academic tradition 🏛️ and formal education to back it up, including the renowned Imperial Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg named after the 19th century Ukrainian painter Ilya Repin. 👨🎨
I’m well versed in the following mediums – both as a theorist and as a practitioner:
🖌️ Oil Painting
🖌️ Watercolor
🖌️ Acrylics
✏️ Charcoal
✏️ Graphite
✏️ Soft and Oil Pastels
🖌️ Tempera
🖌️ Gouache
🖌️ Fresco painting
🖌️ As well as clay and gypsum for molding and carving
In addition, I’ve myself drawn, painted, and made sculptures in the following genres:
🔸 Portrait
🔸 Human anatomy and nudes
🔸 Landscapes
🔸 Still life
🔸 Monumental art
🔸 Religious scenes
🔸 Abstract and avant garde art
🔸 And “manual” digital art (using Apple Pencil)
Teaching Style
I do one-to-one classes and also teach in small groups of two to four students.
Each lesson lasts 2 hours ($150) — this way, we have enough time to draw calmly, explore ideas, and see real progress by the end of the session. 😊
(Lessonface doesn’t have a 120-minute option in the menu, so the listed price refers to a full 2-hour lesson.)
The classes are very interactive. The main idea is not to lecture you or do the work for you, but rather help you tap into your creative self and arm you with the right tools to extract your unique ideas!
I try to combine in my teaching process teaching methods from brilliant masters I have met in my life 🔥 in art colleges and Academy I study in (Pjankov, Dergunov, Bistrov, Denderina) and also from famous Old Teachers of Art (Soviet Art Masters: Crimov, Chistjakov, Kurkov, and European Art School Masters: Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and Caravaggio ).
When I teach , I do put myself in my students’ shoes. Also I use MY own art experience as an active fine artist who has faced different topical issues, so that YOUR works can suit modern art contexts.
Curriculum
The core of my teaching method lies in the connection of three disciplines — Composition, Drawing, and Painting. They complement each other and help artists progress steadily.
Additionally, we incorporate lessons on sketching, anatomy, and color theory.
I usually prefer the following format for our lessons:
👋 You send in your request
💬 We connect to discuss it
👩🎨 We begin our lessons
✨ If you’re a beginner and have no background in fine arts at all, we may have to cover some theory first
🎨 We begin to create art together
🤳 You send me a screenshot of your progress every 10-15 minutes
🖌️ I provide feedback and explain specifically what I would do differently and how
✏️ I teach you new tools, techniques, hacks, and shortcuts to meet your artistic goals
🖼️ You rework your art under my supervision or we do it together (often we do both)
💪 We repeat this process until you reach your desired outcome
📝 You get homework upon request to apply your new skill set to fresh projects
If you’re interested, do let me know. Or if you have something different in mind – just ask, and I’ll do my best to meet your specific needs.
🌿 Ready to begin your lessons with me? - Please message me here before booking, so we can confirm the best time together. 🤗
Our lessons are 2 hours ($150), but your first one is only $94.50 — since the first 45 minutes come free. That’s about a 37% discount on your trial lesson 💛
Just a little note: the discount applies to your very first lesson only, even if you book several lessons at once.
Take care. I’m looking forward to talking with you soon!
