I’ve been painting with oils for three decades, and drawing for as long as I can remember. I’ve been a full time fine artist for a decade and a half now, and have been doing guest demos, private and group lessons for many years, for various subject matter and age groups. After graduating from Tyler School of Art at Temple University with a major in Painting, I had jobs making signs by hand, doing T-shirt designs, and in a graphic design studio with clients like M&M Mars, and Revlon. As a freelance artist, I did logos, movie poster illustration, album art and packaging design. I even scored and created sound effects for some short films! Yes, I play keyboard as well. I’ve worked in many different mediums, but painting with oils and drawing are my preferred mediums. I teach painting in oils, as this is my forte, but I am not the best fit for students that are interested only in acrylics. I’ve painted and drawn many different kinds of subjects, but the figure is my favorite. I've worked from photo reference and from life (something right in front of me) as well as from my imagination; the range of styles that I have used have gone from photorealism all the way to cartoons. I am also proficient in Photoshop, which I often use to edit the reference for my paintings. My work has been displayed in many shows across the country, and has sold internationally.

It had been a long time since I tried painting with oils. I'm mostly a photographer, and my painting skills had vanished. After a few lessons with Anthony, I was surprised at how quickly I seemed to improve, reminding me of my art school days. Anthony was patient with me, and adapted to my skill level and was willing to work with whatever subject matter I wanted.

Anthony is the best oil painting instructor I have had since beginning to paint about 5 years ago. Very knowledgeable and thoughtful. He is able to instruct me in foundational skills while still working on subjects that I want to paint. I would highly recommend Anthony if you want an insightful and friendly instructor.

Anthony has quickly accelerated my 10 yo daughter's drawing abilities. He has taken a natural interest of hers and turned it into a skill. He is careful, patient and dedicated to his students. I highly recommend him!

Anthony is the drawing instructor I had been looking for! He genuinely is interested in connecting and learning about his students and knowing their background/ approach to art. His art class was very personalized to me, my artwork, and current skills so that I could learn from him the skills and knowledge I need to strength myself as an artist. It is a privilege to learn from him and I highly recommend him to students who are looking for a highly effective instructor that tailors the lesson to them on an individual level.
Anthony is an amazing instructor! My twelve-year-old daughter is a determined and passionate artist and she’s been looking for someone to deepen her technique. We’ve tried multiple local art teachers but she constantly felt like these classes were really just glorified babysitting. She has been working with Anthony since March and the difference in her work is truly impressive. He gives her real assignments and follows up consistently. I highly recommend him for kids with a drive to take their art to the next level.

I'd give Anthony a 10 star rating ! Anthony is so knowledgeable and yet was able to guide me and meet me where I was at! His perfect teaching style - which is a unique blend (yes, pun intended) of warmth and professionalism - has gotten me so excited to delve into this! THANK YOU, ANTHONY!
Anthony is the absolute best art teacher. He has a wonderful way about him that makes you learn and he he is caring and most importantly he has patience.

Anthony is a very good teacher. He was very patient with me and really helped me develop my drawing ability. He’s very detail oriented and I’d recommend his lessons to anyone who wants to learn to draw better.

He's polite, he's patient, personable and does a good job of explaining things to the layman. please give him a chance if you were on the fence, it's worth it. He makes me want to work harder.

As he is a talented artist, he can work with peooke on All levels and on whatever type of art is preferred. He s really experienced in making on line teaching work and feel personal and effective. Anthony is a very well informed and efficient instructor. He always teaches me in a way I can understand and helps me draw to the best of my abilities. He knows what he is doing and my drawing has improved greatly since I’ve been taking lessons from him.

I've gotten to watch my 7 year old blossom with confidence in her drawing ability with Anthony's patience and guidance. He has a gentle way of correcting her drawings without discouraging her. He has given her the flexibility to focus her direction of learning, all the while bringing fun into their lessons. What a patient, talented artist! Such a privilege to learn from a professional painter, who shares his time and expertise. Teaching Style
I want to help you make huge leaps in your skills to become a better artist than you even thought was possible! Whatever you want to create, you can do it! Private lessons can save a lot of time and keep you on the right path for your personal individual needs, where ever you are on your way to becoming Leonardo (not DiCaprio, the other one). Want to learn how to draw lifelike faces? Paint realistic still life? Improve your proportions with the human figure? Master color with landscapes? Draw anime and manga characters that will make people say "sugoi!!"? [That's "wow" for those of us that have spent some time living in Japan, *wink*] I have experience doing all of these things and I want to share some of the best methods to go about them with you.
Curriculum
There are all kinds of different ways to approach drawing or painting the same thing. You should use the techniques that feel most natural and work best for you. I will customize your lesson to the subject, medium and speed that you prefer, so that as long as you've got the necessary fundamentals taken care of, you can make strides in whatever area you want. Many students prefer to go step by step working on an image the same time as me. Others prefer to work on things in between lessons and then I critique what's working well or what needs some adjusting during the lesson. Sometimes I may look at what the student just do a demo of how to do something while a student just watches. Or we can also just have questions and answers about using specific supplies, guidance on how to have a career as a fine artist, or anything else that you would like.
