Ariadne Mahadeo
About
Berklee-trained Pop/Rock/RnB/Gospel/Indie/Jazz/Classical vocalist and passionate music educator! I’m a creative, encouraging, and patient teacher, specializing in lessons tailored to you. With a lifetime of learning and teaching behind me, I use proven tools and techniques to support all learning styles and help students reach their music goals.
Teaching Style
With a background in Classical Voice training and education in Contemporary Voice Pedagogy from Berklee College of Music, I blend both worlds to help students maintain technique that will aid them in their individual singing/music goals. Students who work with me will be encouraged to explore the nuances of their voice while gaining the repertoire and technique that will support their musicianship in the long-term.
Curriculum
I believe that it is important to familiarize my students with human anatomy. After all, our body is our instrument. Understanding how sound is carried through the body and out into the world plays a crucial part in understanding your unique voice. A great way of understanding the body is to observe the sensations within. I will ask students how singing exercises feel in certain registers, and for them to describe what they are feeling. I want to help my students foster confidence and independence in what they sing, how they sing, and how they approach obstacles in their singing. I am determined to amplify my students voices. Some recommended texts are "The Contemporary Singer" and "Vocal Workouts for the Contemporary Singer" by Anne Peckham.
