Teaching Style
In terms of teaching style, Brett tailors the lesson plan to fit the student's goals. While there are fundamentals of which all students must understand and that Brett emphasizes, he also pays special attention to what the student's goals and tastes are, finding a unique path to help the student realize their vision. The two basic categories of learning music are: technique and music theory. Each student will require a specific blend of the two in order to get them where they want to be.
If a student wants to explore the blues, Brett will give the student the understanding of the genre's mechanics, and analyze performances of blues artists. If the student wishes to develop their technical abilities, Brett will develop a routine of drills and exercises that train the student to progress in their facility. Everyone has unique tastes and dreams, Brett designs the lessons around what yours are.
