About

Cecilia Ferron is an accomplished Italian violinist with a remarkable career in the world of classical music. She made her highly anticipated debut at the renowned Kammer Musiksaal – Philharmonie in Berlin with her Trio in May 2023.

Cecilia's journey in music began at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan, where she cultivated her skills on the violin. She then pursued her musical education under the guidance of Maestro Fabrizio Pavone at the Conservatoire de la Vallée d'Aoste. Continuing her pursuit of excellence, she furthered her studies at the Music Academy in Hamburg, Germany, where she obtained her Master's degree with distinction.

Her specialization continued in Berlin, studying with esteemed violinists A. Frolov Chestiglazov of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, Yoshiaki Shibata, and Alina Pogostkina, the acclaimed soloist and winner of the Sibelius 2005 competition in Helsinki.

Cecilia's dedication to her craft extends beyond formal education, as she has actively participated in international masterclasses with renowned musicians such as Fabrizio Pavone, Mark Gothoni, and Natalia Prishepenko.

Currently, Cecilia holds the position of first violinist in the Orchestra of the Komische Oper of Berlin, the Deutsche Symphonie Orchester Berlin - DSO, Ensemble Modern, Berliner Symphoniker, Brandenburger Symphoniker, Kammer Orchester Berlin, Babelsberg Film Orchestra, and Berliner Camerata. Since December 2017, she has held the esteemed position of "solo violin" in the orchestra of the Theater des Westens in Berlin.

In 2019, Cecilia resumed her musical activities in Italy, serving as the Concertmaster of the Calabrian Philharmonic Orchestra and performing as a violinist in the Verdi Orchestra of Milan. Throughout her career, she has had the privilege of collaborating with esteemed conductors and soloists, including Jader Bignamini, Stanley Dodds, Kristjan Järvi, Anna Netrebko, Valentina Litsitsa, Sergey Krylov, Misha Maisky, Nicola Benedetti, Yusiv Eyvazov, Ilya Kaler, Giovanni Sollima, and Monica Leskovar.

Cecilia's performances have taken her on tours across numerous countries, including Italy, Germany, Austria, Turkey, Russia, Korea, France, Poland, Japan, Finland, China, and Chile, with the Berliner Symphoniker and the Kammer Orchester Berlin. Additionally, she frequently engages in chamber music performances with various ensembles, including string quartets, trios, and duos. In Italy, she performs in a duo with pianist Stefano Nozzoli, while in Berlin, she collaborates with pianist Maja Matijanec, with whom she has received acclaim in various concert reviews.

Recognized for her talent and potential, Cecilia Ferron was awarded a scholarship for merit from the Conservatoire de la Vallée d'Aoste in 2012. She proudly plays a violin crafted by Roberto Collini (Crema-2001). Currently residing in Berlin, Cecilia continues her artistic exploration and research, continuously striving for musical excellence.

Teaching Style

As a dedicated violin and music teacher, my primary goal is to empower students to become independent learners. I firmly believe that a well-rounded music education goes beyond technical proficiency. In my lessons, I strive to create a nurturing environment that fosters a deep connection with music and the violin.

I approach teaching with utmost dedication, aiming to engage and inspire my students on their musical journey. By exploring the rich tapestry of emotions that music evokes, we delve into the intricacies of color, movement, and shape, enhancing the expressive possibilities within the pieces we explore together. For example, we might play "emotional mapping" games to connect the music to specific feelings, or we might experiment with different bowing techniques to convey different moods and textures.

Through a combination of "games" inspired by the Alexander Technique, the Suzuki Method, and actor training exercises, we embark on a journey of self-discovery and artistic growth. We might explore body awareness exercises from the Alexander Technique to improve posture and control, or we might borrow ear training techniques from the Suzuki Method to develop a keen sense of pitch and intonation.

My teaching philosophy emphasizes a concrete and hands-on approach to theory and harmony. I break down complex concepts into digestible, practical knowledge, enabling students to grasp their theoretical and, most importantly, their practical significance. For example, we might analyze chord progressions in a piece and explore how they create tension and resolution, and then apply that understanding to our own improvisations.

Passion for music and knowledge fuels my own continuous growth as a musician and as an individual. It is my heartfelt mission to instill this love for music in my students, empowering them to pursue their dreams and unlock their highest artistic potential. Together, we'll develop not only technical skills but also a deep appreciation for the artistry and emotional power of music.

Join me on Lessonface, where we will embark on a musical adventure together. Let's nurture your talent, build a strong foundation, and explore the depths of musical expression. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and guiding you towards your musical aspirations."
