Cecilia Proia
About
Hi! I'm Cecilia, and I'm an Italian pianist based in Rome.
I graduated from the Conservatory of S. Cecilia in Rome: I have a Bachelor's degree in Classical Piano and a Master's degree in Music Management. I've been teaching both classical and pop-rock piano, as well as music theory, solfeggio, harmony and analysis, ear training, piano arranging, and songwriting for over fifteen years, in person and online. I also prepare students for ABRSM and Trinity exams.
Teaching Style
I teach students of all ages, in both Italian and English, using a personalized approach, depending on their goals and ambitions. For children, I refer to the methods "Orff-Schulwerk", "Music Moves for Piano" by M. Lowe, Bastien, as well as traditional classical piano methods.
I usually create personalized arrangements for my students so that they can learn their favorite repertoire from the very start, adapted to their level.
My purpose as a teacher is to help people fully develop their musical potential by working on musicianship as a whole, building a wide spectrum of musical skills and a healthy and safe technique, all the while keeping it fun!
