I am a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. I have been teaching professionally for 17 years

It is important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson.

I try to find out what student is interested in, and guide my instruction according to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level.

I graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Music degree in piano and voice. I have the Artist Diploma in Vocal Performance at The Royal Conservatoire of Monaco. I was the Semi-Finalist of NATS, singing fluently in Italian, German, French, Latin and Korean.

My specialties/genres are Classical, Art songs, Popera, Opera, Church music, Pop, Broadway/musical theater, Disney, traditional folk songs, K-pop/ballad.

Celine was very concise with singing and voice care advice. She's also extremely patient when there are struggles; learning how to sing from scratch can be a long journey and she definitely eases my worries with how patient she is with me. Also Celine often works around you and she gives you a lot of freedom with her lessons. The flexibility and kindness she provides during our singing lessons is nothing short of amazing. Celine is a very sweet and friendly teacher! I used to be very nervous about singing in front of people, but after taking lessons, because of her encouragement and her help building my skills, I'm a lot more comfortable not only during our lessons, but also even outside our lessons like at karaoke with my friends! Ms K. Is one of the best singing teacher I have ever had. You can tell she has had a lot of experience with singing and she has a wonderful voice. Her teaching is excellent, she is very kind and patient with me. I am very shy about singing, but taking lessons with her I feel has boosted my confidence. I have had someone notice improvement in my singing since taking lessons with Ms K. and that shows me even more how great of a teacher she is. Celine is amazing! I spent a couple of months with her and was so impressed, both with her patience and large repertoire. As this was my first set of vocal lessons ever, I was worried it was too late for me, and that my voice would be stunted, but as we worked together it got easier and more comfortable following her instructions. Celine also showed a great amount of flexibility with schedule changes, and always worked to accommodate me so I felt encouraged and welcome. We worked together both on American and Korean music of all different styles, and I feel as we went along, her suggestions were very well-tailored to my voice and my range. I started with Celine for piano, but then we started doing half piano and half singing lessons. Celine and I went through a piano lessons book. It was very helpful learning how to learn a song. I got used to reading notes and how to practice. I came from being self taught through youtube and playing by ear for around a year or 2, but I never learned the traditional and more classical way. I really learned a lot from that. Singing was more exciting because I grew at a pretty fast rate. Celine is really knowledgable about the different ways a person can use their voice and selecting out warm ups to help the growth of a specific singing technique. My voice got stronger and more stable. My head voice is more natural. My singing background was just doing it for fun since I was a kid. Me and Celine both like kpop and korean music so I sang those as well as some English and Japanese songs. So pretty flexible there. She was able to give me really good recommendations for songs to sing based on my voice.

I started voice lessons with Celine back in September/October. I didn't know much about proper and healthy technique as well as proper breathing. Celine taught me all of that and not only that but how I should treat my body by eating healthy and working out. Since the beginning my voice has become stronger. I am able to sustain longer phrases in singing, the use of dynamics and proper placement when singing. I can't believe how far I have become! I sang all my life but I was singing with the worst technique possible. Celine has helped me to find my true voice and soon it will all come together! Amazing! Sun is one of the best teachers I ever had! She is very talented and passionate in music. She is so sweet and caring. She gives me her full attention during the lesson and is very patient with me. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to take piano/voice lessons!

I love to teach students of all ages and abilities. I believe that learning music should be fun and enjoyable. It is my mission to guide and provide appropriate tools to educate musicians who will always have a lifelong passion.

I teach breath support, vocal range expansion, resonance, tone placement, posture, proper diction, sight reading notes, ear training, releasing tension and stage performance. I can help my students improve technique for any genres of music they want with a focus on building a solid and healthy technique.

Some of my current and former students are working professionals with credits including TV, film, national tours, opera, Broadway and more. My students are often chosen as leading roles in musicals and operas, soloist of choirs and choruses.
