About

Hi! I am so glad you are here! I’m a vocal coach and keynote speaker-singer with 30 years of vocal study and performance experience. For over 14 years, I’ve also mentored individuals, helping them overcome challenges and reach their personal goals. I specialize in helping aspiring hobbyists, recreational singers, and those who have struggled with traditional vocal techniques find joy in singing. My focus is on adult and teenagers, ages 14 and up, who want to explore their voices for fun or personal growth.

My approach debunks common myths about singing. I believe that if you can hear and speak, you can sing! Singing isn’t reserved for the “talented few”—most people can sing beautifully with the right guidance, as long as there are no anatomical issues.

I’ve trained in opera and classical music, while also exploring genres like musical theater, jazz, and pop. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Maryland. I also completed additional vocal studies at prestigious institutions including Vassar College, the Mozarteum International Summer Academy in Salzburg, Austria, and the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria.

Outside of music, I am passionate about animals. I also enjoy comedy, reading, dancing to Afrobeats, and Disney and Pixar movies.

Teaching Style

My teaching style is supportive and collaborative. We’ll start with what you already know, speech, and build from there. We will focus on staying relaxed and grounded, so you can enjoy the process without strain or fear. You are the authority on your own body, I am merely a guide, so I encourage you to let me know if a suggestion I make does not work for you.

Curriculum

My teaching method is "body-first" and rooted in the belief that our speaking voice and singing voice are one and the same. Since the body already knows how to speak, it also knows how to sing. Using speech as a foundation, I will guide you toward healthy, effortless, and beautiful singing. My method is effective across genres, and I encourage my students to explore a variety of musical styles. A great resource I recommend is "The Art of Singing," written by Jennifer Hamady. I have personally coached with Jennifer Hamady, and my approach is based on the ideas she presents in her book.
