Chloe Descher
About
I am a professional flutist and educator based in the Los Angeles, CA area. I have 7 years of teaching experience, and each one gets more exciting than the last. I graduated from the University of Southern California with my masters in flute performance, and from the University of Kansas with my bachelors. Apart from my teaching, I enjoy freelancing around Los Angeles and playing with the Civic Orchestra of Los Angeles and the California Young Artists' Symphony. I also love spending time with my two cats Oliver and Penny (who you'll probably see at your lessons), going to the beach, and reading a good book. Teaching Style
I enjoy finding innovative and fun ways to teach my students the fundamentals and find their love of playing. By working on everything from finger technique, tone, and articulation to musicality and performance anxiety, my goal is that each student finds newfound confidence in their playing and in themselves. No matter your age or ability level, we can cater your lessons to fit your goals. I had many teachers growing up who gave me the confidence to pursue my dream of being a flutist, and I hope to provide my students with the same confidence to do whatever they desire.
Curriculum
My teaching method is unique to each student, but in general we will cover each aspect of flute playing (tone, technique, articulation, etc.), repertoire, and the history and theory of our music. I work with students' individual goals to determine what we will work on each week.
