Christopher D'Amato

I am a pianist, organist, and music educator based in New Jersey, and I have been teaching privately since 2017. I work with students of all ages (currently from ages 3 to 83!) and levels, and I specialize in developing a personalized, encouraging, and creative approach for each learner. Whether you are a beginner learning your first notes or an advanced pianist preparing for auditions or competitions, I will meet you where you are and help you grow with confidence.

My students have won awards in both performance and composition competitions, and many have pursued advanced study and musical leadership in their schools and communities. I also teach music theory, organ, and offer coaching for collaborative pianists and aspiring piano teachers. Lessons are available virtually and have included students from across the U.S., Europe,

In addition to teaching, I perform actively as a soloist and collaborator and serve as a Director of Music and Organist in NJ.

I approach each lesson with a blend of structure, creativity, and joy. I emphasize strong technique, expressive playing, and musical literacy, while encouraging exploration and curiosity. I aim to help students become confident, independent musicians who love the process of learning and making music.
