Conrad Jones
About
Conrad Jones is the newly appointed associate principal trumpet of the Pittsburgh Symphony beginning in the 2024/25 season. Outside of Pittsburgh he has performed as guest principal trumpet with the Chicago Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra, St. Louis Symphony, Toronto Symphony, and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. During the summer season, he often performs at the Mainly Mozart, Strings, Sun Valley, and Grand Tetons Music Festivals.
Jones was principal trumpet of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra since 2016 and principal of the Tucson Symphony prior to that for two seasons. In the 2015/16 season, he was acting 2nd trumpet of the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra. A native of Long Island, New York, he attended The Cleveland Institute of Music before continuing on to The Colburn School in Los Angeles, CA.

Teaching Style
Thank you for visiting my page! My teaching style is student focused, so I tailor my approach based on the individual needs of the student and their learning style. The ultimate goal is to inspire students and foster a love of music, as well as give them tools to be able to effectively practice and consistently improve.
I'm well versed in a variety of styles of music and am open to working on classical, baroque, jazz, and more.
Curriculum
I have been teaching all ages for over 20yrs and can work with anyone from a beginner to a comeback player. Some examples of lesson subjects would be:
- developing warm ups and fundamental routines
- learning new songs
- Sight reading and music interpretation
- learning to read music and trumpet basics
- help with jazz band, orchestra, or wind ensemble music
- all state solos, scales, etc
- orchestral coaching
- audition techniques
