Dado Magnelli
About
I like to work within the Jazz and Brazilian music styles. Besides developing reading skills, improvisation theory and creativity, I stimulate students to learn by heart the repertoire. Every week we study a new tune, memorize it, improvise on it and analyze its melody an harmony. The learning is always based upon real sound sources, which are the records and it's transcriptions made by the students. For beginners, prior to their capacity to transcribe songs, I use song books as reference.
Teaching Style
I like to say that I'm a music teacher and later on a woodwind teacher. I try to develop the music inside the student prior to solve technical issues on the instrument. First singing and then playing. I use Socrates' "Maieutica" technique where the student finds the way by himself through the questions I make. The intention is to build ever learning and indipendent students.
