Dale Dudley

Dale Dudley's musical journey began when his mother made him take piano lessons at the age of seven. He was born the third of seven children in Washington, D.C., and grew up in New Carrollton, MD, a suburb of D.C. Dale has studied bass with notable musicians including Jeff Mangone (Catch 22, University of Pittsburgh), Pepe Gonzales (Imani), Anthony Wellington (Victor Wooten), John Patitucci (Wayne Shorter, Chick Corea), Lincoln Goines (Dave Valentin, Mike Stern), Zev Katz (Hall and Oates), Gary Grainger (John Scofield, Dennis Chambers, Frank Gambale), and Matthew Garrison (Whitney Houston, Herbie Hancock). For piano, his teachers have included Ricky Payton Sr., David Budway (Jeff “Tain” Watts), Jon Ozment (Maceo Parker), Ron Elliston, and Robert Sykes. He also studied jazz theory with Chris Vadala and orchestration/composition with Dr. Tolga Tem. Dale attended the University of Maryland, Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA, and The Collective in NYC.

He has performed with several artists and bands including Soul Sister Sally, TobyMac, Casting Crowns, Jeremy Camp, The Katinas, Nicole C. Mullen, Lainey Wilson, Jimmie Allen, Salvador, Jaci Valezquez, Becca Bowen, and Michael Rixs. Dale was mentored by Bryan Lenox, a Dove and Grammy award-winning producer/engineer

My teaching style is highly personalized, focusing on each student's unique needs and musical goals. I aim to provide students with practical exercises and material that allow them to start playing and performing as quickly as possible. In addition, I incorporate music theory in a clear and accessible way, ensuring it is easy to understand and directly applicable to their musical journey. This combination helps students build both confidence and skill in a well-rounded, engaging learning experience.
