Dana Anex

I am a chamber musician and music teacher. Currently, I work as Assistant Director of Sycamore Strings Academy, teaching violin individual and ensemble lessons, conducting the youth chamber orchestra, and coaching the adult chamber ensemble.

Recent public performances have included accompanying choir and soloists in Handel's Messiah and Saunder Choi's Verum Corpus. I collaborate with local artists, adding string solos to their music.

I hold degrees from Northwestern University (BM 2019), where I studied viola with Helen Callus, and The University of Chicago (MA 2021). I have completed Suzuki violin teacher training up to unit 3.

I encourage all students to learn to play by ear and to understand the basics of music theory to interpret solo Bach independently.
