Dario Giuliano
About
Dario Giuliano, born in 1994 in Palermo, Italy, grew up in a family of musicians.
He began his studies as a violinist and then continued in the viola class of Maestro Renato D'Anna at the Scarlatti Conservatory in Palermo, graduating with
highest honors.
He subsequently earned a Master of Arts degree from the Musik-Akademie
Basel in the class of Silvia Simionescu, whose influence led him increasingly to chamber music, deepening his studies with renowned masters such as Claudio Martinez, Feltz Eberhard, and Rainer Schmidt.
Performing frequently in various trio and quartet formations between 2021 and 2022, he has won several international awards, including the Gold Prize at the World Classical Music Award (UK) and First Prize at the King's Peak International Music Competition (USA).
His orchestral activity is also intense. During his studies in Basel, he was an academician at the Biel-Solothurn Theater Orchestra and subsequently perfected his skills with several orchestra principals.
He performs regularly with several orchestras in Switzerland: the City Light Orchestra, the Sinfonieorchester Basel, and the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester.
Since January 2025, he has been a full member of the Sinfonieorchester Liechtenstein.
Dario Giuliano plays a viola 42cm by French violin maker Frederic Chaudiere.
Teaching Style
Personally, I like a very direct approach with my students. I believe every student should have a very clear goal in mind, and consistency is the key to improving and achieving these goals.
Every student, regardless of age or level, chooses to study music for a very specific reason. My job is to help them express themselves and try to achieve their desired goal in the shortest and best way possible.
I specialize in violin and viola teaching, and I have extensive experience in chamber music.
Another important area I specialize in is orchestra audition preparation. I believe this is a very important area for musicians who want to explore this world.
