Hi, I’m Darren Wagner—a passionate, student-focused music educator with over a decade of experience teaching students of all ages and skill levels. I specialize in double bass and electric bass, and also offer beginner lessons in ukulele, guitar, piano, and music theory.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from San Diego State University, a Master’s in Educational Psychology from CU Denver, and a Colorado Professional Teacher License, I bring both deep musical knowledge and a strong understanding of how students learn best. As a current K–5 general music teacher and orchestra director, I know how to keep learning fun, engaging, and structured.

My teaching style blends technical mastery, musical expression, and creative exploration. Whether you’re learning your first notes or refining your groove, I’ll meet you where you are and help you build confidence and skill at your own pace. I also love helping students connect music theory with practical playing—it’s a game-changer for musical growth!

In addition to classroom teaching, I’ve performed with the Royal Caribbean Orchestra, co-directed at the National Guitar Workshop, and worked in instrument repair and musical theater direction.
