With over a decade of teaching experience, David Grayeb has become a popular choice for private lessons to students of any age, from beginner to advanced. He has been playing and performing music since the age of 8. Beginning with piano, he quickly started playing in various competitions and recitals under the tutelage of internationally acclaimed pianist, Patti Wiggins.
At age 11, he began playing saxophone, with which he had received several Jazz awards throughout junior high and high school.
At 14, he developed an interest in the electric guitar and has been in multiple Rock bands ever since.
David is a very popular teacher with our students and teaches piano, guitar, bass and ukulele.
Teaching Style
I accommodate to any and all styles of learning. Having taught for over a decade I have accumulated many tools in terms of teaching regimen, styles, and techniques. I can teach how to read music, how to understand music theory, and also how to learn songs by ear!
Curriculum
Varies by student. I prefer to assess a students strengths and goals before I assign a curriculum.
Credentials & Affiliations
Learned under the tutelage of acclaimed piano teacher Patty Wiggins. Earned the Woody Herman jazz award in high school with saxophone and studied at Berklee college of music for a short time, as well as advanced theory classes and audio engineering at local colleges. Currently gigs several times a week with several musical groups, all different styles and genres.
in Southern California I've played at numerous venues and festivals including the House of Blues (San Diego and Anaheim) the Belly Up, the Music Box, the Casbah, the San Diego Fair, the Encinitas street fair, the Escondido street fair, the Carlsbad street fair, Fiesta Del Sol (festival) Gator by the Bay (festival) the Holding Company, and many, many other around San Diego and neighboring counties. I've also done extensive recording sessions at Wildcat studios and Dusk studios. My music from various artists can be found on Spotify and Apple Music!
