Deborah Robertson
About
Deborah Robertson has no doubt that she stems from a lengthy line of spinners, weavers, seamstresses, embroiderers, and embellishers all the way back to prehistory. The daughter of a YWCA Camp Director, she was most often found in the Arts and Crafts cabin. As a teenager she embroidered her blue jeans and was soon employed by her friends to sew rock and roll emblems on their jean jackets. Before moving to Asheville she worked in wool and produced felted one-of-a-kind art wear pieces and wall hangings. For the last 10 years Deborah has been a shoemaker and teacher. She has been teaching wet felting since 2009.
Teaching Style
Deborah's teaching method for both shoemaking and felting is the demonstration style. As a visual learner herself, she will show you the techniques by which she achieves success.
