Dhrithi Bhaskar
About
Hello! My name is Dhrithi Bhaskar and I am a certified crochet teacher with six years of experience. I also have my own business where I sell crochet accessories and jewelry.
I have worked with students of all ages and skill levels, from absolute beginners to those looking to refine advanced techniques. Whether you have never picked up a crochet hook before, want to make your first scarf, or are looking to explore intricate patterns, I am here to guide you every step of the way!
Teaching Style
My teaching style is friendly, patient, and flexible. I keep classes engaging by incorporating fun activities that help build and reinforce skills. After covering the essential basic techniques, I encourage students to explore their creativity by choosing the projects they’re most excited about, while still ensuring steady progress in learning more advanced techniques. Over the years, through lots of trial and error, I’ve developed a unique collection of crochet techniques that you won’t find anywhere else online.
Credentials & Affiliations
I have six years of hands-on experience in crocheting (since 2019) and five years of experience teaching the craft (since 2020). I began learning crochet with the guidance of a dedicated personal tutor for a full year and later completed a certified teaching program through the American Crochet Association.
Since then, I’ve taught crochet to both individuals and groups, in person and online, across the United States and India. During high school, I founded and led the crochet volunteer club at Thales Academy, where I taught fellow students and organized donations of handmade items to pet shelters, hospitals, and homeless shelters. I also regularly host workshops for larger groups and currently offer private lessons both from my home and virtually. In addition, I volunteer at a local after-school program, teaching crochet to students in the community.
Beyond teaching, I co-run a business with my sister where we design, create, and sell handmade crocheted and sewn items. Our products are available online and at local events, including fairs, pop-up shops, and farmers' markets.
Outside of crochet, I am a third year Biology student at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
