About
I began my career as a clarinet teacher in 2013. At the time I was still an amateur and taught in the philharmonic band where I learned music.
At the same time, I completed the 5th grade at the Conservatory Choral Phydelius.
I attended the Professional Course for Wind Instrumentalists - Clarinet, at the Metropolitan Professional School, Lisbon, in the class of Professor Iva Barbosa.
I graduated in the Orchestra Instrumentalist course - Clarinet, at the Academia Nacional Superior de Orquestra, in the class of Professor Nuno Silva.
I taught clarinet classes at the music schools of the Ericeira Music Academy and the Ribaldeira Philharmonic Society. At the same time, I teach private lessons in the Lisbon area.
I am a military in the Portuguese Air Force, where I serve in the Music Band as a clarinet and Eb clarinet player.
Teaching Style
Classes in Portuguese or English.
The classes are intended to complement the training of the clarinetist, whether they are beginners or not.
In the case of a beginner clarinetist, the teaching of rhythm and music reading is interspersed with instrumental technique.
I provide sheet music and support material according to the student's level.
Curriculum
My classes are focused on getting you to play your hearts desire. You learn and play what brings you joy.
There are 3 moments in my lessons: Technical, where we focus on scales and exercises, learning all the notes and positions, and articulations; Sight-reading to practice score reading; perfect a étude or piece that we're working on.
Along the classes, I provide information about material, reeds and how to take care of them, correct ways of assembling the instrument and keeping it clean, correct posture, and every detail you need to know to play successfully.
If you're new to music, solfeggio teaching is interspersed with instrumental technique.
I provide sheet music and support material according to the student's level.
