Teaching Style

As a voice teacher, I’ve worked with students of all ages, guiding them to discover their own unique sound while building healthy vocal technique. I focus on using songs that fit each student’s voice and help them learn how to select and build their repertoire. Alongside vocal training, I also introduce the fundamentals of music theory, reading, songwriting, and performance, creating a well-rounded and personalized approach that supports every student’s growth as a singer and musician.

Curriculum

My teaching curriculum is structured to give students the tools they need to stay organized and make steady progress. I require each student to keep a binder for their music and materials, use the app iReal Pro for practice and play-alongs, and have access to YouTube for listening and learning from recordings. If a student is interested in or needs to learn music reading, I will recommend specific books tailored to their level. This combination of resources helps ensure a clear, engaging, and well-rounded learning experience.

Credentials & Affiliations

I have taught music for over six years, both through my own private studio and with companies such as Create More Music in Ashburn, VA. My background as a lifelong student—taking lessons myself since the age of five—has given me a deep appreciation for the impact great teachers can have. I model my own teaching style after the inspiring teachers and professors I studied with, blending their guidance with my own experience to create a supportive and effective learning environment for every student.
