Dorottya Standi

I am a professional cellist, teacher and coach based in Vienna.

As a performer, I regularly appear at major venues such as the Wiener Konzerthaus and Wiener Musikverein, have performed at international festivals alongside acclaimed artists such as Yo-Yo Ma and with my long-standing ensembles and orchestras, including the Oberton String Octet and the Tonkünstler Orchestra.
Since 2023, I have been a lecturer in violoncello and chamber music at the Gulda School of Music Wien.

I earned my Master’s degree in Violoncello in Graz with Rudolf Leopold and my Master’s degree in Chamber Music in Vienna with Johannes Meissl, both with distinction.

I believe that music has its own unique place in everyone’s life. 

My lessons focus on building a healthy and efficient technique, developing effective practice strategies, and exploring musical interpretation. I help students connect body awareness, musical imagination, and sound so they can play with ease and confidence.

Whether you are starting the cello for the first time, returning to the instrument, preparing for auditions, or simply wishing to deepen your musical expression, I will support you in finding your own authentic path with the cello.

My goal as a teacher is to help students become independent and confident musicians.
