I create confident crocheters and knitters! I do this by teaching, designing patterns, blogging, and creating video tutorials. I help yarn crafters learn the techniques they need to problem-solve and think for themselves.
And through tech editing and professional instruction, I help designers learn the skills they need to provide clear, correct, concise and consistent patterns.
I have been teaching knitting and crochet in person (and at the national level) for almost 30 years, and have taught over a thousand students virtually since 2020. I am also the author of a number of best-selling crochet and knitting titles including The Crochet Answer Book, Around the Corner Crochet Borders and How to Knit Socks: Three Methods Made Easy.
As an Evaluator for the Craft Yarn Council's Certified Instructors Program, I mentor and help others become better knitting and crochet teachers.
Teaching Style
I love to teach! I'm friendly and encouraging, and I never use the word "wrong" in my lessons! My goal is for you to understand not just the "how", but the "why" of techniques. That will make you more self-reliant and happy with your work. In private lessons, you'll learn what YOU want to learn, as well as pick up a ton of tips to make your crochet or knitting better than you can imagine!
I have many repeat students who love my teaching style, although I'm just really getting started with private lessons on Lessonface, so those reviews don't show up yet.

We'll be doing plenty of hands-on work! The supplies needed will depend on what you are working on. We'll discuss that in our first interactions.
