About
Elena Heimur is a dynamic, innovative and accomplished teaching professional offering over 20 years of diverse experience in the field of vocal and piano pedagogy. She has demonstrated expertise in the full scope of teaching, and coaching related to vocal and piano development, including vocal and piano technique, repertoire, and languages, as well as interpretive and dramatic coaching for classical and musical theater forms. With a proven ability to foster a cohesive student learning atmosphere and teach large groups of individuals or on a one-on-one basis, Elena promotes and encourages individuality, self-confidence and personal growth through the implementation of sound teaching philosophies and methodologies.
Elena also has extensive performance experience as a vocal soloist and pianist on a professional international level performing in opera, oratorio and concert. She has trained with world class voice and piano teachers, vocal coaches and conductors in the music world and is proficient in languages needed for art songs and opera.

Curriculum
I teach classical and contemporary singing. Many of my students have not only won various vocal competitions and talent pageants, but are singing professionally in opera, musical theater and Broadway, both in the United States and abroad.

Elena Heimur has taught at many music & art academies throughout the New York City vicinity. She is currently on the performing arts faculty at the College of Staten Island at The City University of New York teaching vocal and piano performance while she also maintains a private studio. As well, Ms. Heimur is affiliated with The Steinway Teacher & Educational Partner Program in piano & vocal performance.
Experience
A faculty member of the Performing & Creative Arts Department in Applied Voice and Piano @ The College of Staten Island ~ CUNY, New York, Ms. Heimur has designed and implemented curriculum that focuses on vocal and piano performance, acting, and stage performances for high potential students. She develops tailored lesson plans based on student aptitude and needs. She collaborates often with a team of faculty to organize student-led Young Artist performances and recitals, & participates in faculty concerts at The College of Staten Island.
She is the owner and manager of The Manhattan Voice & Piano Studios in New York City, targeting students in early to advanced levels of development.
Elena received a Teaching Recognition Award from the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts (Washington, DC) for having the most significant influence on student artistic development and is a Steinway Educational Teaching Partner.
