About

My name is Elisa, and I am a passionate violin teacher with four years of teaching experience.

Throughout my teaching journey, I have worked with students of different ages and skill levels, from complete beginners to more advanced learners. My goal is to create a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel motivated, confident, and inspired to grow as musicians.

I believe that every student learns differently, which is why I adapt my lessons to each individual's needs, goals, and pace. Whether you are picking up the violin for the first time, preparing for an audition, or simply looking to improve your technique and musical expression, I am here to guide you every step of the way.

In addition to my practical teaching experience, I hold a Teaching Competencies Certificate that has provided me with training in educational methods, lesson planning, and effective teaching strategies. This allows me to design engaging and structured lessons that help students make steady progress while enjoying the learning process.

Teaching Style

As a teacher, I am patient, encouraging, flexible, and highly motivated. I believe that learning music should be both challenging and enjoyable, and I strive to help my students develop not only their technical skills but also their confidence and love for music.

I would be delighted to be part of your musical journey and help you achieve your violin goals.

I look forward to meeting you soon!

Curriculum

My teaching methods are closely related to the technical approach to playing, as I believe that a solid technical foundation is essential for achieving excellent musical interpretation. Technical mastery allows students to express musical ideas with freedom, confidence, and artistic sensitivity. Therefore, I place strong emphasis on developing healthy playing habits, efficient movement, and a thorough understanding of the mechanics of performance from the earliest stages of instruction.

I base my instruction on the pedagogical principles and methods developed by Mimi Zweig at the String Academy of the Jacobs School of Music, Indiana University. Her approach integrates technical development with musical expression, fostering both artistry and discipline while encouraging students to become thoughtful, independent musicians.

Credentials & Affiliations

I hold a Diploma in Education from the Universidad Central de Venezuela and a Bachelor's degree from the Jacobs School of Music, one of the schools of Indiana University Bloomington. The Jacobs School of Music is internationally recognized for its excellence in music education and performance.
