Ellen Kidwell
About
Greetings! My name is Ellen Kidwell. I have about 11 years of teaching both private lessons and currently hold a position as an Orchestra Director in Dallas Texas. I perform regularly on both violin and viola. I have won the Texas Music Educator's Association Collegiate Educator Award, and most recently the Texas Orchestra Directors Association Young Educator of the year. I am Suzuki Certified, however I prefer to teach in the style that is best suited to the student and their needs! I perform regularly, and have been featured as a violist in a project that was released on Texas Public Radio.
Teaching Style
I am Suzuki certified, but teach with a variety of styles based on my experience with different student's needs.
Curriculum
For most students, I typically recommend Suzuki books and provide extra materials myself, such as scale sheets, bow exercises etc. If the student is more advanced, I will ask them to get the Kruetzer 42 Studies, Bach Sonatas and Partitas and varying solo repetoire depending on their goals.
