Emi See
About
Emi See is a California-born contemporary pianist, performing extensively on piano and toy piano. She specializes in the works of living composers, especially those of lesser-heard voices. Equally versed in classical as well as contemporary idioms, she has performed through the U.S., U.K. and Italy with performances of new works, world premieres, and classical repertoire. She has had the opportunity to work with and study with composers and artists such as Hie-Yon Choi, Ursula Oppens, Boris Slutsky, Shiori Usui, Thomas Rosenkranz, Peter Takacs, and others, as well as artists and creatives in Glasgow.
Emi is a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (Glasgow, Scotland) where she graduated with Bachelors of Music in PIano Performance with First Degree Honours. While at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, she studied piano with Aaron Shorr and Sinae Lee, and free improvisation with Anto Pett.
Emi is currently pursuing a Masters in Piano at KASK & Conservatorium in Ghent, Belgium, where she studies with Daan Vandewalle.
Teaching Style
Emi has been teaching professionally for over a decade and has intensive training in traditional piano pedagogy. Her students are marked by their distinct skills in sight-reading, improvisation, music theory and creativity. Of equal importance, Emi's students develop a strong sense of discipline, self-motivation and a love for music in their everyday lives. Each lesson contains an aspect of experimentation with sounds and interpretations, music theory, sight-reading as well as piano technique.

Emi's teaching style is defined by her ability to meet the unique strengths of each student. In fostering a love and curiousity for learning and an excitement for experimentation, each student can reach a very high skill level and pride in their accomplishments.
