Emily Heid

Hello! My name is Mrs. Heid and I have been a musician for twenty years and an educator for four years. Music is my passion, and I believe it is my duty to share this gift with others. My main instruments are flute and ukulele, although I can play over 13 other instruments. I have performed with bands and orchestras in over five countries, including Germany, where I lived for three years. I love to travel and meet people from all around the world. 

I believe in the constructivist method, that students learn by constructing their own meaning of a concept. It is my job as a teacher to guide you to discovering the right answer instead of just telling you the correct answer. When you discover it for yourself, you learn more! I also believe in the growth mindset, which means that mistakes or failures should be celebrated as part of the learning process instead of something to be feared.
