Evan Tanner

Hello! My name is Evan and I am a Music Educator in Manitoba Canada. I am in my first year of classroom Music Education with Frontier School Division, and am looking to create my online teaching studio. I have a Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Education, both from Acadia University, and my specialties are piano, clarinet, and Music Theory. I have taught both clarinet and piano at summer band camps, as well as given private piano lessons to middle school age students. I am experienced in teaching Music to students aged 4-15, and piano students aged 12-15, and have been teaching in classrooms since 2021 in both practicum and professional settings. I hold a Canadian Teaching Certificate, and have completed training in keeping learning environments safe, healthy, and inclusive for all students through the Manitoba Respect in Schools program.

I take time to get to know my students and their unique learning styles, and can adapt my teaching to meet them where they're at and grow from there. For piano studies, I prefer the Royal Conservatory of Music books, but am open to other options that the student and parents would prefer.
