Francine Reisman-Tabor

I began my musical journey at the age of 8, studying violin, adding piano at age 16 and performing vocally from the age of 8. I have participated in orchestras from ages 13-18, choirs from the ages of 6-present. I was a soprano soloist in the Youth for Understanding Chorale's tour to South America and Europe, recording as a soloist at Hill Auditorium in Ann Arbor Michigan. I performed as a chorus member for Michigan Opera Theatre in Detroit, Michigan and Opera Colorado in Denver, Colorado. I performed solo roles with Denver Opera Company in Denver. I founded my own studio, TEMPO, LLC in Denver, teaching and directing teachers of Orff Pedagogy, Flute, Violin, Voice and Piano.  I have taught privately for 22 years, over 1,000 students and presented those students in nearly 100 recitals. Students of mine are now studying professional in university music programs. I have prepared students for auditions throughout my teaching career.

My teaching style is based on the Montessori philosophy to "follow the student". I base my decisions on the appropriate method to use for each students based on my assessment of their individual learning styles. I introduce note reading, theory, and technique in connection with the repetoire we are studying. I encourage each student to develop their practicing approach and choice of repetoire in keeping with their technical abilities. I allow each student to organically develop their musical journey, guiding them to reach their full potential. I am teaching students from ages 6-88, creating an individual musical path for them with their choices.  I strive to create a welcoming environment, one which motivates each student to take responsibllity for their success.
