About
With more than 38 years of professional performance experience and over 30 years of teaching, I work with committed students who want structured, measurable progress.
My musical path began early as a boys’ choir soloist and church organist at age 11. I later trained at the Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Arts and Berklee College of Music, building advanced foundations in voice, piano, and organ. In addition to classical training, I teach and perform jazz and rock and am proficient in guitar, bass, and drums.
My teaching philosophy centers on persistence, repetition, and patience. Real growth comes from disciplined, intelligent practice. I quickly assess a student’s technique, musicianship, and performance habits, then design a clear, step-by-step plan to eliminate weaknesses and build lasting strengths.
Lessons focus on:
Technical precision and healthy technique
Musical interpretation and stylistic fluency
Practice strategy and efficiency
Performance confidence and consistency
I work with motivated beginners, advancing students, and serious performers preparing for auditions, productions, or professional work. Students can expect high standards, detailed feedback, and steady, measurable improvement.
If you’re ready for focused guidance and professional-level development, I look forward to working with you.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is structured, goal-oriented, and supportive.
I work best with students who want clear direction and real progress. Lessons are designed to be focused and efficient, with a balance of technical development, musical understanding, and practical application.
I give clear, honest feedback, clear weekly assignments, and a step-by-step path so you always know what to practice and why. I also adjust the approach to the individual student - whether you are a beginner building fundamentals, a returning player rebuilding technique, or an active musician developing new skills.
I emphasize consistency, strong fundamentals, and measurable improvement over random practice or short-term results.
My goal is to help you become a more confident, independent musician - not just learn songs, but understand what you are doing and continue improving between lessons.
Curriculum
My teaching method is structured, practical, and goal-oriented.
I combine technique, repertoire, ear training, and musical understanding in each lesson so students build real skill - not just memorize songs. Lessons are tailored to the student’s level, with clear weekly assignments and a step-by-step plan for steady progress.
My focus is strong fundamentals, measurable improvement, and helping students become confident, independent musicians.

- Faber Piano Adventures / Adult Piano Adventures
- Technique studies (Hanon, scales, arpeggios, chord work)
- Sight-reading and rhythm training
- Ear training and theory integration
- Lead sheets and chord charts for practical musicianship
- Repertoire in classical, pop, and contemporary styles

For voice students, I also include vocal warm-ups, breathing/support work, pitch training, and song interpretation coaching.
Teaching Philosophy
"Amateurs practice until they get it right; professionals practice until they cannot get it wrong.”
Persistence, repetition, and patience - applied through structured training and measurable progress
