About

Gail Pilgrim (earlier Ross) has been weaving since 2005, taking many classes at both the Kalamazoo Institute of Art in Michigan and Vavstuga Weaving School in Massachusetts. She currently lives in Northeast Ohio but remains very active in several Michigan guilds and study groups, as well as MLH, HGA, and MAFA. In September 2022 Gail was the MLH Spotlighted Weaver. As a professor of FDA regulation for Temple University, teaching weaving and lecturing online became a natural progression and Gail has presented towel weaving programs to many guilds in several states, the 2023 MAFA virtual conference, and MLH, all receiving high praise. Having served 12 years as Education Chair for the Weavers' Guild of Kalamazoo, establishing new study groups and writing a monthly column "Loose Threads", Gail enjoys writing about weaving and participating in exhibitions and juried competitions where she has won several awards. She is clearly "warped" on towels, but also enjoys other home weaving, especially utilizing Swedish traditional structures.
