George Grydkovets

A graduate of The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, I’ve been playing guitar for 18 years and teaching for over a decade. Originally from Kyiv, Ukraine, I’ve performed and recorded with many acclaimed musicians both in my hometown and on the NYC jazz scene, including Ari Hoenig, Steve Cardenas, Sam Yahel, John Raymond, and others. My experience as both performer and educator allows me to bring real-world insight, creativity, and clarity to every lesson.

My lessons focus on developing a deep understanding of harmony, technique, and improvisation through the music you love. I tailor each session to the student’s level and goals, combining ear training, repertoire, and creative exercises. Whether you’re a beginner exploring chords or an advanced player working on phrasing and improvisation, I emphasize musicality, groove, and personal expression. Students learn not only how to play guitar, but how to think like a musician.
