Giovanni De Simone
About
I am an Italian-American Teacher, pianist and composer specializing in contemporary classical, minimal, and new age music. My artistic research focuses on the relationship between music, nature, and inner perception, creating immersive concerts and site-specific performances.
Teaching Style
My teaching style combines technical precision, musical creativity, and personal expression. I focus on developing each student’s individual voice, encouraging curiosity, deep listening, and mindful practice. Lessons are tailored to the student’s goals and level, integrating classical technique, contemporary approaches, and improvisation.
I emphasize a holistic approach: not only learning notes and rhythms, but understanding the relationship between music, emotion, and movement, fostering an experience that is both educational and inspiring. I create a supportive, patient, and engaging environment, where students feel confident to explore and express themselves at the piano.
Curriculum
My teaching method combines classical piano technique with contemporary and modern approaches, aiming for a balanced development of technical skill, musical expression, and creative improvisation. Lessons are individualized to meet each student’s goals and interests, whether focused on classical repertoire, contemporary piano, minimalism, or new age music. I emphasize deep listening, mindful practice, and musical exploration, creating a supportive and inspiring learning environment.
