Glen Fabisevich
About
Glen Fabisevich is graduate of the Manhattan School of Music in Piano Performance (BM '11), has been playing for 35 years, and actively performs in New York, as well as all over the world, in countries such as Finland, Brazil, and Peru. Notable are his recordings of several piano concertos, including the Schumann Piano Concerto and Beethoven 3rd Piano Concertos in 2021, as well as his participation in the Suolahti Music Festival in Finland in 2006-2008 and the Golden Key Music Festival from 2015-2019 at Carnegie Hall in New York as an accompanist. He loves to acquire different knowledge from different styles, and is happy to share everything he's learned, as you learn how to play the music you enjoy!
He has developed a system for online teaching which replicates in-person lessons with a great sound system, and actually improves on in-person lessons. His class includes an extensive online musical library geared to all tastes. His system of teaching which will have you moving through pieces at a great pace, while enjoying and retaining all information, as well as a wonderful and innovative screen-sharing system making online lessons seamless and accessible!
He has been teaching piano privately for 22 years, and has been teaching exclusively online for 5 years. Before that, he held a teaching position at Scherzo Music Studio in New Jersey from 2011-2020, and a position as the music director, organist, and choir director of the Federated Church of Livingston in New Jersey from 2012-2024. He's thrilled to share the joy of learning music, and can teach in any style - jazz, classical, pop, and beyond that!
Teaching Style
Glen brings many years of experience to the table, as well as a great combination of learning to read, theory, technique, scales, improvising, and even composition. He makes the lessons fun, and he will move you quickly - but at your pace. You will learn fast, and be very happy with the results, while feeling very comfortable right from the very first lesson, as you make your way on your musical journey!
Curriculum
Glen's method has been worked out through 2+ decades of experience. He takes songs, breaks them down for you into accessible parts, helps you find all the notes you're looking for with techniques acquired from years of teaching, and makes the process simple and achievable in just a few minutes. Included in the lessons are theory, improvisation, composition, ear training, sight-reading, learning about music, and much more!
He teaches at all levels, from beginner to professional. He's thrilled to show you all the practice techniques and ways to move through music material at whatever pace you feel comfortable. He has worked out many ways to solve technical and musical challenges, and here's here with your learning process every step of the way!
Recommended lesson time is 30 or 45 minutes. He can help you determine your level, your trajectory, and set short- and long-term goals at your FREE TRIAL LESSON. His starting core is based around the Faber Piano Adventure Series, but with an extensive online library, he can find almost any song you're looking for in any genre of music.
