Grace Baek
About
I am a doctoral candidate in Voice Performance and Pedagogy at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and have over 20 years of teaching experience in voice, piano, and music theory. I’ve worked with students of all ages and levels—from young beginners to college-level musicians and adult learners. Whether you’re pursuing music professionally or simply for enjoyment, I’m here to help you grow with purpose and joy.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is warm, encouraging, and structured. I believe in creating a supportive environment where students feel safe to explore and grow. Every student learns differently, so I customize lessons based on each student’s strengths, goals, and pace. I focus on developing both technical skills and musical expression, helping students gain confidence while enjoying the process.
Curriculum
For voice students, I emphasize healthy vocal technique, breath support, diction, and musical interpretation, using exercises drawn from both classical and contemporary vocal pedagogy.
For piano, I build a strong foundation in note reading, rhythm, and technique, incorporating fun and age-appropriate repertoire.
