About

My name is Hans Muer. I've been teaching percussion privately for 36 years and love it! Seeing students grow to love learning from me and to play well is super gratifying. I excel at teaching beginners, successfully. I have a caring approach of patience for my students, helping them to feel supported along their journey.

I teach the following drumming styles, especially for those advancing; swing, blues, afro-Cuban/salsa, progressive rock, classic rock......

I continue to perform professionally as an in-demand studio drummer in Detroit and "first call" performer. My jazz group, The Hans Muer Trio still performs all over Michigan.

I was part of the group, Brazil and Beyond for 15 years with band leader, Rich Kowalewski.

I write and record my own percussion music. My release of, "Marimba Baby" appeared in 2014 and can be heard on most streaming platforms.
