About

Hello, I'm Helena! I've spent over 16 years helping students of all ages grow confidence and achieve their musical goals! I teach piano across a wide range of styles, from classical masterpieces to jazz, blues, rock 'n' roll, Latin and contemporary music.

In addition to piano, I also teach music theory, ear training, sight-singing, solfège, dictation, music history, and musical form (morphology).

I hold state-recognized Certificates in Harmony (2007-3 years of study), Counterpoint (2010-2 years), and Fugue (2012-2 years), as well as a Soloist Certificate and Diploma (2015) from the Depot Music School of Thessaloniki. I also hold a Certificate in Instrumentation and Wind Orchestra Arrangement / Big Band Conducting (2017-2 years study), and a Diploma in Composition (2017-4 years) from the Central Conservatory of Thessaloniki.

In addition to my music studies, I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the Department of Economic and Social Studies, University of Macedonia (2025).

I have attended numerous seminars and conferences, including:

  • Choir Conducting Master Class with Antonis Kontogeorgiou (Thessaloniki Concert Hall, 2013)

  • Music Informatics and Music Information Retrieval Webinar, Ionian University (2015)

I am also a Flowers Kids Yoga School – 1st Level Instructor (2016)

I have 8 years of teaching experience at the Depot Music School, where I taught piano, group music theory classes, and private lessons, both in person and online.

Additionally, I have studied vocal performance and musical theatre, guitar, and drums.

Teaching Style

I began teaching music at the age of 18, to students from 2.5 years old (baby piano) to adults, tailoring each lesson to their music goals. In the trial lesson, I provide a demonstration of my teaching approach, ensuring it suits every student, and I provide a plethora of PDFs and worksheets for better understanding and guidance.

I continue to develop my teaching through seminars, workshops, and conferences, staying up-to-date with innovative techniques and methods.

Curriculum

In my teaching, music theory and piano techique play a very important role, because they are the basic foundation of learning the piano.
When you truly understand how music is organised through music theory, and when you develop a solid piano technique you can progress much faster and eventually be able to play whatever you want!

For me it's really important that you achieve your musical goals, to learn to play piano pieces that you like, without it becoming frustrating, but also without it getting boring!
