Igor Barbosa

Hello, I'm Igor (25 years old), a professional musician and music teacher. I have been studying music since I was 10 years old. During my teenage years, I spent time listening to, researching, and studying music, and I also played in bands in Brazil. Having the guidance of teachers was crucial in my development as a musician. As an adult, I have a degree in Music - popular guitar course - at Unicamp  (really  great Brazilian college) and attended various courses, masterclasses, and competitions outside of college. My main influences are Brazilian music, solo guitar (classical and popular), jazz, pop and rock.

I was a finalist in the 3rd Fábio Lima Guitar Competition and participated in masterclasses with Fábio Lima, Turíbio Santos, Ulisses Rocha, Leandro Latú, Luís Cláudio Ribas, and Lucas Penteado. Currently, I'm continuing my studies at Emesp - Tom Jobim (conservatory),  in the popular guitar course - Advanced instrumental practice - 4th cycle.

Guitar lessons for all levels and ages.

• My lessons are always tailored to the objectives and personal preferences of each student. Initially, together, we assess the student's level of knowledge about music and the instrument of their choice (which can range from beginner to advanced).

• Student motivation: Whether it's playing for fun, pursuing a professional career, preparing for a music course or university, among others.

• Methodology: During the lessons, we work on the repertoire chosen together with the student. Once the music is chosen, we study various aspects of music knowledge, such as:

  • Instrument technique, rhythm, harmony, melody, and ear training.
  • The student will have access to support materials and can also ask questions during the week.
