About

Hi, I’m Igor Bardykin, a classically trained pianist, composer, and educator with over 10 years of experience teaching and performing internationally.

I hold a degree in Piano Performance from the Moscow State Conservatory, one of the world’s leading institutions for classical music. During my conservatory years, I performed across Russia and Europe as a soloist and chamber musician, and was honored with awards for both performance and composition. I later joined the faculty of the Maurice Ravel Conservatory (Los Angeles branch), where I taught piano, theory, and music composition classes from 2024 to 2025.

In addition to my academic work, I’ve composed music for stage and media, with projects including a contribution to Madonna’s "Mother of Creation" NFT project (2022), and performances of my original compositions in festivals across Europe and the U.S. I’ve also worked as a private music teacher in New York and Los Angeles, teaching children and teens at various schools and community music programs since 2015.

I currently teach students around the world online and in-person, focusing on piano, theory, composition, and music production.

Teaching Style

My teaching approach blends the discipline of the Russian classical tradition with the creativity and flexibility needed to meet each student where they are. I believe in building strong technical foundations while also nurturing personal expression and confidence. Lessons are structured yet engaging, incorporating ear training, theory, and repertoire in a balanced and inspiring way. I work with students of all ages and levels, but I especially enjoy teaching children and teens. For younger students, I use games, storytelling, and imaginative practice tools to keep lessons fun and effective. For more advanced learners, I offer mentorship in composition, improvisation, and artist development, helping students prepare for exams, competitions, or creative projects. I also offer music production and songwriting support for students interested in contemporary music, combining piano skills with digital tools to create original work. Whether your goal is to play for enjoyment, improve technique, or become a more complete musician, I’m here to support and guide your journey.
