About

I’m Illia Netkach, a professional and experienced violin teacher with a Junior Bachelor's Degree from Kharkiv State College of Music (Ukraine 2006) and a Licentiate Diploma in Violin Teaching from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (UK 2019).

I picked up the violin at the age of 7 and have been following my passion ever since. My teaching journey in music began long before graduation, teaching my younger cousins and discovering my love for sharing knowledge. Though I dreamed of a performer career, I always felt the irresistible call to teach and mentor.

In 2013 I moved to the Middle East, and my teaching experience here has been incredibly enriching - guiding students of diverse ages, nationalities, religions, and cultures. I was working for many well-known schools in the region, such as Doha British School, De Bakey High School, Newton School in Doha, Brighton College Al Ain and Al Ain British Academy. Many of my students have excelled in exams (ABRSM, TCL, GCSE), competitions (St. Christopher Festival Bahrain, Young Musician of Gulf, among others), and have simply become talented players.

Among my achievements as a performer are numerous releases of original music, including the 2017 album "I Am", which received positive reviews from "Smooth & Soul" (Germany) and "All About Jazz" (USA), and winning the Battle of the Bands in Bahrain in 2016

During the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, I transitioned to online teaching and was amazed by its effectiveness when approached the right way. In my lessons, I fully leverage the power of available technology, which includes professional software, a good camera, and decent microphones to deliver the best quality to the student.

They say an expert is someone who has made all the possible mistakes in their field, and that's me. I've walked this path, and now you can too. With expertise in violin, as well as piano basics, theory, composition, improvisation, solfeggio, electric violin techniques, an many more, I serve as your all-in-one resource for reaching your highest musical goals. Whether you want your child to learn this beautiful instrument or you have always dreamed of playing the violin yourself, now is the perfect time to start. Get in touch, and let me be your guide on this wonderful musical journey.

Teaching Style

I offer individually tailored lessons that allow students to learn at their own pace, aligned with their personal goals.

My lessons, in addition to violin-specific instructions, cover basics of music theory and solfeggio, as well as improvisation, contemporary techniques, usage of electric violin and effects, etc.

The core philosophy: learn music like a language - read, speak, memorize, improvise, and, last but not least, joke!
