About

I'm an Oakland, CA native and have been playing the drumset for 20 years.  I'm incredibly passionate about it and love what I do. Currently I'm part of numerous original music projects as well as freelancing and teaching. I've toured the U.S. and internationally playing Jazz, Rock, and tons of orignal music.  I was one of the recipients of the Jazz Search West award in 2011 and have also been recognized by the Reno Jazz Festival for outstanding musicianship.

Teaching Style

As a teacher I really like to focus on the individual student I'm teaching and cater to their needs and interests. For young people starting out I have an incremental series of steps and lessons I usually go through. For more advanced players or people with previous experience I'm really just happy to help them with their goals and that tends to involve catering the lesson structure to their needs. Whether someones looking to increase their speed fluidity, coordination, overall musicianship, knowledge of polyrhythm and time signatures, I'm happy to help.
