James Morgenthaler

Jim Morgenthaler bought his first Nikon when stationed in Korea in the Air Force. Exploring Korea and Japan with that camera sparked the interest in photography that continues to this day. Jim has been teaching photography in Athens for 45 years and has been involved with digital photography for the last 30 years. He has been teaching for the Professional and Personal Development program at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education since his retirement from the University of Georgia. During his work life at UGA, Jim produced educational video, film, computer graphics, and still photography. Jim has taught classes via Zoom for the Southeastern Photographic Society and UGA.

Jim has taught 16 photography classes at John C. Campbell since 2012.  He wrote, produced and hosted a 13 part television series on photography for Georgia Public Broadcasting that was broadcast for 15 years.

I encourage active participation during the sessions and encourage students to send me their images for critique.
