Jeanne Evans
About
My name is Jeanne. I am a native English speaker from the Pacific Northwest of the United States. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in secondary education. I have experience teaching one-on-one with secondary students and adults in many subjects, specializing in English, History and Drama. I received my TESOL and TEFL certificate with the express intent to teach English as an additional language.
Teaching Style
I teach English by reaching my student’s goals using their interests as tools. I include cultural context in my lessons so that students understand the “why” behind American English rules and common usage. I ensure that the class is a safe space so students look forward to learning rather than feeling anxious about being drilled or judged. Learning anything takes an open mind and a LOT of practice.
Curriculum
I base the class curriculum on my student’s needs and interests using slides, audio/video samples and oral practice.
