The best teacher

For context, I did one "trial" lesson with quite a few "Accent Reduction" teachers available here. Out of those, I only decided to keep working with two: and Jeanne is one of them. It's surprising just how productive (and tiring - in a good way) sessions are. Not to mention that no time was ever wasted - thanks to an evaluation exercise, the very first session already tackled the sound I have always had the most trouble with. The flow of a lesson is really nice. She's really good at spotting problem areas - sometimes it almost feels like she's reading your mind. I wouldn't say that that I improved that much as of now - sadly there's no magic wands to fix the bad habits built over years and years of pronouncing stuff wrong, but this definitely feels like the best direction possible to finally tackle that "baggage". I cannot recommend lessons with Jeanne enough for anyone who wants to try and improve the way they talk: people who are regularly forced to listen to you will be thankful :)

I really loved structure of the session. I was able to practice during the session, and Jeanne corrected me in very positive and encouraging manner. She also was making notes on what we have to do next. I already scheduled next session with Jeanne.

Jeanne P. has a great ability to encourage people with different backgrounds to have lively conversations/discussions during her classes on the learning subject. She is very helpful when the matter is concerning the pronunciation of words /silver e, pepper e, and so on; I think, the people who take her classes will understand better what I do mean/. I liked her online group classes.

Jeanne is amazing! Her class exceeds my expectations. She is friendly, patient, and speaks clearly. I'm learning to pronounce some words I mispronounce and improving my reading skills. I like the homework; I record my reading, and it corrects what is wrong. Jeanne is a great teacher. Whenever I fail to get the right pronunciation, she is being very supportive and passionate. She knows how to explicitly explain the way of pronouncing sounds and put it into practice. Jeanne is an amazing teacher! I live in US for many years and I always spoke English without difficulty, but I noticed that I have an accent. Finally I decided to take care of that part. After taking a couple of classes that I mispronounced a lot ofbasic words and was unaware of some sounds. Jeanne is very helpful with understanding the difficulties of your personal mistakes and she is very easygoing, making classes to feel very casual. She helps you to relax and become more confident.

Just started my 1st lesson and it's promising.Jeanne doesn't waste a second. As a start she is so attentive to tiny details, focuses on your downsides and targets them. She is like a fun troubleshooting machine. Her follow up videos are so helpful that excutes her notes at the class. I think I will see much improvement soon

Jeanne is an awesome instructor. In a little over a month, I have become more aware of my mispronunciation and learned several nuances with consonants (such as t and the dark l) and vowel articulation.

It was a very productive session. Highly recommend if you’re a non native speaker and want to reduce your accent. We worked on vowel sounds and also discussed a few things from diagnostics.

Jeanne is an excellent instructor that goes above and beyond her duties to make her students succeed. She is a very professional and patient ESL/Accent Reduction teacher. She has a prepared lesson plan (book) and assigns homework (upon request) in between lessons. Her work plan is also flexible upon request of the student, and at least one time, she was delighted to help me improve the pronunciation of one of my projects. She even stayed past the scheduled lesson time so I could meet some of the time constraints of the project. I highly recommended her for any non-native speaker looking to improve his/her accent at an affordable price.

I had the pleasure to work for and with Jeanne at El Barrio/Centers for Families and Children Services. She was the ESL Coordinator and Teacher there and I worked as her Assistant teacher for almost a year. I worked with Jeanne when she was teaching ESL at West Side Ecumenical Ministry in Cleveland, and I was a volunteer ESL Teaching Assistant. Jeanne was an excellent and well-loved teacher. Jeanne created a welcoming and fun learning environment for the students in the classroom.
